Neural Tissue Engineering

Cell transplantation after traumatic brain injury has shown promise in pre-clinical rodent models; however, one major limitation of this strategy is cell transplant survival. Neural tissue engineering is a promising platform to increase cell transplant survival through incorporation of pro-survival signaling bioactive molecules. We are interested in developing the next generation of neural tissue engineering scaffolds that better enhance cell survival and host integration.
